Ubuntu Junior Academy is a Christian-based school that focuses on nurturing the unique God-given talents in each child from an early age and guiding them toward passion and purpose.
We identify the unique God-given talents in every child at an early age and nurture them into passion and purpose.
“I Am Because We Are,” We live the Ubuntu philosophy to make our world a better and more caring place for all.
Ubuntu Junior Academy highlights the school’s commitment to providing a holistic and well-rounded education for its students.
If you entrust your child to us, we will give you a confident and well-rounded child.
We offer an integrated learning approach anchored in the competency-based curriculum (CBC) to give children the best learning experience as they start the journey toward reaching their full potential. We have well-qualified and dedicated staff who are committed to giving their best to the children entrusted to our care. We do this in collaboration with parents and the community.
We know every child by name and we seek to discover and nurture talent and potential in each one of them. We have a well-equipped Talent and Technology Lab (TTL) where specialists help our children develop their creative talent in art, drama, music, and essential ICT skills, among others.
We have created a beautiful, safe, and well-equipped outdoor play space to stimulate and develop all the senses and gross motor skills for wholesome physical development. In this space, children will appreciate nature and learn to care for the environment from a very tender age.
We are a Christian faith-based school. We integrate spiritual teachings into our curriculum to guide our children in the spiritual practices of prayer, kindness, empathy, compassion, and gratitude, which form the foundation of our core values.
We have created a joyful learning environment where we celebrate social and cultural diversity through a broad range of activities weaved into our extracurricular program.
An anthropologist proposed a game to a group of African tribal children. He placed a basket of sweets near a tree and made the children stand 100 meters away.
Then he announced that whoever reached the tree first would get all the sweets in the basket. But when he said, “Ready, steady, go!” Do you know what these children did? They all held each other’s hands, ran together towards the tree, divided the sweets equally among themselves, ate the sweets, and enjoyed it.
When the anthropologist asked them why they did this, they answered “Ubuntu”.
Which meant – “How can one be happy when the others are sad?”
Ubuntu in their language means – “I am because we are” A strong message for all generations.
Let us all have this attitude and spread happiness wherever we go.
Let’s have an “Ubuntu” Life…
“I remember when our children were young, my husband and I struggled to get a good kindergarten that would nurture and prepare them to get a slot at Strathmore School (the primary school of our choice at the time).
We finally identified the kindergarten we were looking for but then things went south when it closed abruptly mid-year. The struggle for a good kindergarten was officially on again.
From experience, I know the kind of pressure that parents go through when looking for a good kindergarten.
The school’s mission is to identify and nurture the unique talents and potential of each child from an early age, fostering passion and purpose.
